Imitation: The Language

We were
mutant,
electric, and had

four arms, four
legs, pushing
each other, coming

back together. Every chance
I got close, the
smell brought

me closer. The
smell of deodorant
and the lotion

you had
on gave my
hands a

grasp of
your body. Hands
flowing around us.

  1. Ooh, "hands flowing around us", imagine. I think about the scene in the movie Labyrinth when the main character falls down a well and there are millions of hands helping her down. The hands even come together to form faces and they speak to her.

  2. I love the use of mutant and electric with in the same stanza, mutant being grotesque and un-likeable but electric to be dazzling and magnificent.

  3. It works wonderfully, its dark and brilliant. Keep it going, the drama is unbeatable.
