Hey man
the party was really lame, no booze,
but Jamie managed to get really drunk
she's a cheap drunk but I don't know
where the alcohol came from, i'm just
sayin it wouldn't take a lot for her to get
drunk you know. And I had to walk her
home, Don and I and Carli actually and
she kissed Carli which was pretty funny
I hope she remembers that tomorrow but
she probably won't she'd be really embarrassed
it was quite a long walk home and she fell
down a few times total shitshow
anyways we poured her into bed around
2. and I got a call from mykel and she was
really drunk too actually and we hung out
for awhile we didn't fuck or anything though
I know that's what you were about to ask
we just smoked cigarettes while she sobered
up a little bit anyways you didn't miss
anything good i'll talk to you later
jon
What were you trying to say in your response? Was this to the "rig" of Listen, bro.
ReplyDeleteThe part that impacted me most was after the long winded explaination of the drunken night you ended it with "you didn't miss anything good". I smiled because it is so true.
ReplyDeleteI love how this is realistic and funny without being sentimental. A brief letter about a totally ordinary night, nothing special, "didn't miss anything good" and the faintest sense that the author just on the brink of discovering the futility of the early-twenties weekend rituals of booze and "hookin' up".
ReplyDeleteVery well done. It kind of feels like one of the poems you read in chicken soup for the soul, but at the end no one dies. I love reading stuff like this, and it is definitely relate-able (SP??) lol!
